OLIVER! JR

Now Productions will be presenting "Oliver! Jr" at the Shedley Theatre in October 2021.  Auditions will be held on 1st May and young people aged 6-18 are invited to audition (must still be at school in 2021).

Please read the following information carefully before completing the audition application form (at the bottom of this page).

Auditions

Auditions will be held on 1st May at our studios in Smithfield.  After applying for an audition, you will receive an email with an audition slot.  These are organised by age and cannot be changed.  You will also receive the audition pieces by email (please check your Spam folder if the email does not arrive).

Rehearsals

You must be available for the following rehearsals. Please do not audition if you cannot attend these dates. Performers will be asked to leave the cast (without refund) if they miss rehearsals. Allowance will be made for illness if a medical certificate is produced (provided the performer is able to catch-up on anything missed at rehearsal) and commitments that you already have will be taken into consideration but must be noted on your application.

Saturdays & Sundays from 17th July to 17th October (mostly afternoons but some Sunday mornings will be required) - NOW Arts Centre in Smithfield

Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th October - compulsory final rehearsals at NOW Arts Centre in Smithfield

Thursday 28th to Saturday 30th October - compulsory dress rehearsals and performances at the Shedley Theatre in Elizabeth

Production Fee

All successful performers will be required to pay a production fee of $345. This is due on acceptance of your place in the cast. It can also be paid in three instalments:

$155 on acceptance of your place in the cast
$95 by 31st July
$95 by 31st September

Siblings who are successful in being cast in either show will receive a $50 reduction on each of their Productions Fees (therefore being required to pay $295 each)

This production fee includes:
  • The cost of all rehearsals
  • A souvenir t-shirt
  • Script hire
  • Costume hire
  • 10% discount on tickets

Performers will need to provide their own suitable footwear, underwear and some basic costume items. Exact requirements will be given to cast members during the rehearsals.

The Show

This will be a youth production, not only with a young cast but with young adults aged 18-25 on the production crew.  We are aiming to double-cast the principal roles.  We will be performing at the Shedley Theatre in Elizabeth and there will be 4 performances.

    Auditions are open to ages 6-18 (must still be at school in 2021).  There are a variety of roles available.  All performers are required to attend an Acting/Singing audition and a Dance audition.  You are not expected to be strong in all areas but must be willing to 'have a go' at all three.  If you would like to be considered for a Principal role, please indicate below.  You will be required to stay longer at the audition and learn an extra song.
    Do not wait to be cast and then tell us about unavoidable absences, as this WILL result in your part being recast to someone else.  Compulsory rehearsals in October cannot be missed.
    Rehearsal Dates

    Declaration

    I confirm that the performer named above would like to audition for Now Productions.  I have read the Audition Information (above) and confirm that they will be available for all rehearsal and performance dates.  I understand that, if successful, I will be required to pay a Production Fee as described in the audition information.

    Children aged 6-17 must have a parent/guardian type their name below.  Performers aged 18 and over may put their own name.
    Auditions will be held on 1st May at our studios in Smithfield.  You will receive an email with the details of your audition time - please check your spam/junk folder and let us know if you haven't received anything within a week of applying.
