Please read below for important information about our current production.
THE WIZARD OF OZ
Auditions
Auditions were held on Saturday 20th May with call-backs on Sunday 21st May. There was an Audition Fee of $5 per person which will be held as a deposit. If we were unable to offer you a role, you will receive a refund of the fee. If you were offered a role, the fee will be credited to your Production Fee. There is no refund if you choose to withdraw from the auditions, and there is no refund if we offer you a role and you turn it down.
Rehearsals
All auditionees must be available for the following rehearsals. Performers may be asked to leave the cast (without refund) if they miss rehearsals. Allowance will be made for illness if a medical certificate is produced (provided the performer is able to catch-up on anything missed at rehearsal) and commitments that you already have will be taken into consideration but must be noted on your audition application.
Sunday 2nd July - Read-Through - NOW Arts Centre in Smithfield
Monday 10th to Sunday 16th July - compulsory intensive week (evenings on weekdays - all day on Sat/Sun - no rehearsal on Wed 12th) - NOW Arts Centre in Smithfield
Saturdays and Sundays from 22nd July to 27th August - rehearsals (mainly afternoons but occasional mornings required) - NOW Arts Centre in Smithfield
Saturday 2nd September to Sunday 3rd September - compulsory final rehearsals - NOW Arts Centre
Tuesday 5th September to Saturday 9th September - compulsory dress rehearsals & performances (some during business/school hours) - Shedley Theatre in Elizabeth
Production Fee
All performers will be required to pay a production fee of $395. This is due on acceptance of your place in the cast. It can also be paid in three instalments:
$165 on acceptance of your place in the cast
$115 by 30th June
$115 by 31st July
Families will receive a $50 reduction on each of their Productions Fees (only applies to family members living at the same address).
This production fee includes:
Performers will need to provide their own suitable footwear, underwear and some basic costume items. Exact requirements will be given to cast members during the rehearsals.
The Show
This will be a full-scale production for performers aged 8+ (including adults). We are aiming to double-cast the principal roles. We will be performing at the Shedley Theatre in Elizabeth and there will be at least 4 performances.
