Les Miserable Cast Diary
The following are comments provided by the Now Productions Les Miserables Cast.
This is their diary through the production, how they have fought through the Covid Restrictions, postponement of the production and created a show through challenging and emotional times. We share these with you to show our family spirit here at Now Productions and how resilient we have been to bring this amazing story to life on stage! |
October 2020
11th October - Great work today. It’s great to see those who have clearly practised at home, off book in certain songs and really going for it! Thank you for taking this production seriously and putting your all in (with some fun and laughs on the way).
Next week, 2pm-6pm Saturday. We’re going to be running through the whole of Act 1. Before we get stuck in, we will be running the Inkeeper’s song aka Master of the House with some detailed movements and cast interaction. So, in preparation for this rehearsal - please concentrate your efforts in all songs you are involved in on Act 1. We will try to roll through and see how the show comes together.
Happy learning and see you next week!

November 2020
8th November - Today our cast worked on all ensemble numbers for the musical, putting together some tricky harmonising and staging. Sounding terrific and looking forward to our rehearsal next weekend for a full run through of Act 2! Keep the practicing up and working hard!

15th November - Rehearsals rocked today! Hot - but so much fun, my little Kyle playing his role of Gaveroche

December 2020
December has kicked up into second gear, only four months until our show comes to the stage. Off book, keen and thrilled to be performing with each other, the cast are really getting into character. Some set pieces and props have brought the feeling of the production to life.
January 2021
We are really kicking up a gear now, only five more rehearsals, including those with the orchestra for the first time. The cast and crew, through some very hot days, are coming along very well. The show is set to be an amazing venture.
30th January - Working Bee went ahead at the studio which saw members of our cast and crew working on sets, costumes and props. We made a sizable dent in the much needed stage design for the show.

February 2021
14th February - the cast run through the show and worked on many aspects to strengthen certain scenes. This young man also turned sweet 16, playing Marius in Les Miserables. Look at the intensity he displays. Book tickets now!
March 2021
6th, 7th and 8th March - Our final rehearsals come to a close, the cast throwing everything at show they possibly can and reaping the benefits. All principal characters and ensemble performers are perfecting their skills to bring an amazing performance for all. Next weekend, we move into the Sitzprobe with the Playford City Band (assortment of players). Then, Dress Rehearsals. Getting close people!
Production Week
What an adventure it's been, a tough bump in with some technical difficulties. A fire alarm mid performance that evacuates the theatre and yet, the cast still performed their hearts out. Well done to the Cast and Crew of Les Miserables!
